WELCOME TO THE LEGS OF LAMB WEBSITE

This walk ‘thing’ all started what seems a long time ago when l was just a wee bairn. A what? Is this the real Gary Lamb using a Scots term like “wee bairn”? Born and bred in the south-east corner of Kent, isn’t he the most typical user of local slang? Ha, whatever has happened to this plastics factory worker, or do I mean slacker? There you go, boys at VERTEX , Folkestone; I said that I would mention you in the book!

Really it all started when I was nineteen, as that strange voice that I had become accustomed to hearing down the years exploded into my conscience. “Gary, I want you to walk around Britain.”

So why not join me on the same journey, sharing with me through my written memories of a four thousand five hundred mile trek in which I tasted a unique brew of exhilaration, disappointment, adventure, boredom, sun, wind, rain, pride and embarrassment all somehow blended together to enrich my personal walk with God?

As we move along together, walk with me across the thresholds of many wonderful homes, thrown open to me simply because I was a Christian. Find out how numerous strangers became my overnight friends. Enter into the variety of emotions which I experienced daily as yet another new location came and went.

Above all let this book encourage your faith in the God who walks through life’s ups and downs with us, and who wants to be your constant lifelong walking companion. My prayer is that reading about my adventure will inspire you to follow your own heart wherever God is taking you.
